It is our dream to bring that change to a neglected corner of our community.
Ceasar's Bay is a quiet cul-de-sac with just four parking spots, serving primarily as a pedestrian pathway between the bay and the nearby shopping center. Bordered by a sprawling tennis court on one side and the shopping center on the other, the area has remained much the same since our childhood. However, it’s not unusual to encounter trash, debris, or even animal remains along the water’s edge. Despite these challenges, the stunning views of the Verrazzano Bridge and the open ocean continue to draw visitors seeking a moment of beauty by the bay.
Our goal is to transform this corner into Pineapple Plaza.
Pineapple Plaza is our vision for a vibrant waterfront hub—a place where cyclists can pause for a freshly brewed coffee, friends gather around welcoming outdoor tables, and a fully equipped bike maintenance station keeps everyone’s wheels spinning smoothly.
We see this underutilized space transformed into a permanent community destination dedicated to:
Cycling Education and Safety: Hosting biking and safety classes for riders of all levels, along with offering safety gear to promote safe biking practices.
Bike Maintenance Station: Providing repairs and maintenance to keep the community’s bicycles in top shape.
Community Café: Serving tea, espresso, and light refreshments in a space designed for relaxation and connection.
Cultural and Artistic Events: Showcasing local musicians, artists, and professionals to foster community engagement and support local talent.
Environmental Stewardship: Committing to clean up the area, promote sustainability, and advocate for environmentally friendly transportation.
Pineapple Plaza will be more than a stop along the way—it will be a welcoming space for cyclists and neighbors alike to connect, recharge, and enjoy all that Bath Beach and the bay have to offer, safely and sustainably.
And that’s just the beginning.
We know this will work. We’ve done it before.
Our November 9 Pineapple Pop-Up event was a resounding success, showcasing the vibrant potential of Ceasar's Bay as a thriving community space. In collaboration with StreetLab, we transformed the area into a welcoming hub where visitors enjoyed free coffee, tea, and snacks, participated in educational bike safety classes, and took advantage of complimentary bike maintenance services. We also hosted free bike rides for children along the bay, encouraging exploration and connection. The event drew strong community engagement, highlighting the enthusiasm for a permanent plaza and underscoring the importance of creating a dedicated space for cyclists and neighbors to come together.
