Our Mission
The greatest city in the world, experienced in the greatest way.
Pineapple Ride is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting safe biking and exploration in New York City, fostering a welcoming community for riders of all levels. We provide free safety equipment, offer education on safe riding practices, and design events that celebrate the city’s neighborhoods, historic sites, and cultural hotspots. Our commitment to sustainability and community engagement ensures that all profits are reinvested into promoting safe biking, building stronger connections among riders, and working toward a greener, more bike-friendly city. We’re more than a biking group—we’re a community.
Since its first run in September 2014, our annual ride has become a true celebration of discovery and connection, spanning over 70 miles and averaging 14 hours. Designed to showcase NYC’s hidden gems and historical sites, the ride includes frequent stops, making it an adventure of exploration rather than a race. With the continuous expansion of greenways across the five boroughs, we carefully optimize our routes for safety, ensuring participants can fully enjoy the journey. Whether you’re uncovering new corners of the city or revisiting familiar landmarks, the annual ride embodies the joy and transformative power of cycling.
Keep pedaling,
Team Pineapple
