Riding into a New Chapter: Pineapple's 12th Year of Community Transformation

Pineapple is a 501c3 nonprofit and we hope to do some amazing stuff this year

After 11 years of organizing rides, we’re excited to share that we’ve finally completed the paperwork and formalized our organization. This 12th year, we’re bringing more than just our annual ride. We're working closely with the community and NYC DOT to transform about 150 feet of 9100 Bay Parkway (the dead end near the water) into a clean, vibrant neighborhood space.

In April, we're bringing back our Pineapple Plaza Pop-up, which was a success last November. Our first Open Street event will kick off with a major cleanup of the area. Street Lab will host creative kid's stations, and Pineapple will offer a free bike shop and cafe.

This year, we’re also hoping to partner more frequently with Street Lab for their children’s activities, NYC DOT for bike safety giveaways, and Bike NY to promote cycling. We aim to bring the energy and connectivity of Manhattan’s cycling culture closer to southern Brooklyn.

Thanks for riding with us,

The Pineapple Crew
